Student Final Report

A culminating report that captures what a student learned over the course of the internship experience.

At the culmination of the internship, the student must submit a final report consisting of an online self-evaluation form and a designed oral presentation. The final report is required for credit and must be completed within two weeks after the end of the internship. Also, The Internship Independent Study Form should have been completed and submitted to the Faculty Internships Coordinator (Kristen Pericleous). If you have not completed this step, you will not receive credit for the internship unless you complete it right away.

Multiple Intelligences

In the Communication Design program at Miami, we use a multiple intelligences model to guide design education. While applied skills like concept, aesthetic, usability, and production are important for designers to develop, modern designers are called upon to be much more than “producers.” The multiple intelligences model allows us to facilitate learning and measure growth in five different areas. Not everyone will be strong in every area, so instead of performance excellence, evidence of growth is the most important measure of success.

The five intelligences we assess are:
Practical, Analytical, Creative, Emotional, and Social (PACES). Learn more about the PACES model at the Design Miami Ohio website.

Reflect on your internship and answer the following questions within the self-review. Then, move on to creating a designed presentation and uploading a PDF version of that presentation below.
